Hold Your Temper

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; For the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires. (James 1:19-20)

Blessed Above All People

“You Shall Be Blessed Above All Peoples”:
12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. (Deuteronomy 7 : 12 – 14 – KJV)

A message from the heart of God for you… Receive

A message from the heart of God for you… Receive His Love
KNOW who you are, BE who you are

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭1-2‬, NIV).

How aware are you of your identity? If someone asked you who you are, how do you identify yourself? Are you identified by things you have done? By things others have said about you?

Sometimes God will make us take a time out to be with him just so He can remind us of who we are. We all have made mistakes in the past, but we are not those mistakes. Those things were only things we did. We all have probably experienced a bad relationship or two, but that should not define who we are. Many of us have had friends or maybe even relatives that may have called us things other than a child of God or have told us things that we should do or can’t do. We can not allow society or the opinions of others to take away from what God said. As I began to really study Gods word HE reminded me of everything HE said I was. In HIS word HE says that we are blessed. HE says that we are healed. HE says that we are the head and not the tail. HE says that we are lenders and are not borrowers. I know at times our current circumstances may not always allow us to see or feel the things that God has spoken over us. We should never allow our feelings or our natural sight to take away from God’s word or to take the place of our Faith it is in the midst of our troubles that God is closest to us don’t give up on you,and don’t give up on God. We are going to always be those things to HIM even when we do not feel like it and even when we make mistakes He is always there. In this time in my life, this season because everything has it’s time, place and reason, and they don’t last. I had to get a complete mind renewal about the promises of God. I had to remind myself daily that I am HIS child, I am blessed, I am loved. Simply put, I am who God says I am. It doesn’t matter what mistakes I made in the past or the mistakes I will make in the future, what God said it is,is what matters. we don’t walk our walk according to how we feel or what we see that’s the way of the world because they don’t know the ways of the spirit. What the world does or says is the complete opposite of what God says and do and you can’t have it both ways it is one or the other.

I encourage you to dig into God’s word and find out what He has to say about you and your identity in Him. Don’t allow anyone to steal your identity and don’t allow yourself to steal anyone else’s. If you don’t KNOW who you are, you will never be able to BE who you are. You are a Child of God, you are a daughter of the King. Now walk like it.

Your walk your talk your views are found in the Bible. It is your hand book of life, there is nothing left out.

Prayer: Father we thank you for your love. We thank you for allowing us to see ourselves the way that you see us. We ask that you continue to remind us daily of who we are in you because outside of you we are nothing. We thank you for your grace, we thank you for your word and the transforming power it has to change our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

A detailed account of Jackie Robinson’s first day in the Majors

Dodger Insider

robinson_jackie2

By Jon Weisman

In 2007, I wrote the following piece for SI.com on what it was like for Jackie Robinson on April 15, 1947.

* * *

For most of us who didn’t live through Jackie Robinson’s first day in the major leagues, black and white images have embedded it in our memories. A stark snapshot of Robinson in his Brooklyn Dodgers cap, or frames of newsreel footage showing him running the bases.

According to Jonathan Eig’s new book, Opening Day: The Story of Jackie Robinson’s First Season, when Robinson awoke early that day at Manhattan’s McAlpin Hotel, the sight before him, his wife, Rachel, and five-month-old son, Jack, Jr., was vivid and suggested anything but the historic day that was upon him.

Being Poor

Whatever

Being poor is knowing exactly how much everything costs.

Being poor is getting angry at your kids for asking for all the crap they see on TV.

Being poor is having to keep buying $800 cars because they’re what you can afford, and then having the cars break down on you, because there’s not an $800 car in America that’s worth a damn.

Being poor is hoping the toothache goes away.

Being poor is knowing your kid goes to friends’ houses but never has friends over to yours.

Being poor is going to the restroom before you get in the school lunch line so your friends will be ahead of you and won’t hear you say “I get free lunch” when you get to the cashier.

Being poor is living next to the freeway.

Being poor is coming back to the car with your children in the back seat, clutching…

Have The Mind Of Christ

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 2:

TO have the mind of Christ is indeed the one requirement of lawful striving–a mind which humbly and faithfully submits itself to the will of God as expressed in His great plan of the ages, and which devotes all energy to the accomplishment of His will, because of an intelligent appreciation of the ends He has in view. If so filled with the same mind that was in Christ Jesus, we, like Him, will desire to be as free as possible from entangling earthly affairs, and to have our time as free as possible for the Lord’s service, and then to devote all energy, ability and effort to that service.
